Our Primary Focus • Planned Housing

Transitional Housing

A family cannot rebuild while it is still searching for a safe place to sleep. Transitional Housing is the planned cornerstone of the Foundation's pathway: temporary, family-centered homes where a mother and her children can settle, breathe, and begin working toward lasting independence.

Purpose

Why this program matters.

The goal is not long-term shelter. It is a stable season — measured in months, not days — that gives a mother the time and support she needs to address the circumstances that led to housing loss and to prepare for a home of her own.

Current status: No Foundation housing is operating yet. Current work is fundraising and planning; no property location has been selected. Housing will open in phases, subject to funding, property acquisition, zoning, permitting, and Board approval.

Intended services

  • Proposed family cottages or small homes, designed so each family has its own private space
  • Family stabilization support during the first weeks after move-in
  • Individual housing transition planning with clear, personal goals
  • Connection to the Foundation's other programs: life skills, wellness, employment, and entrepreneurship
  • Guidance toward permanent housing options when a family is ready to move forward

Who it is for

Single mothers and their children throughout Texas who are experiencing homelessness or serious housing instability and are ready to work toward independence.

Anticipated outcomes

  • Families gaining a period of safety and stability
  • Children experiencing a consistent home environment
  • Mothers leaving the program with a plan and pathway toward long-term housing
These are goals, not reported results.
